This was a thoroughly enjoyable and well-designed kayak outing. The pace and distance and location were all perfect, especially for amateur kayakers. Our guide Grace was wonderful—capable, knowledgeable, patient and good-natured. A memorable experience.
We recently went on a kayak tour of Cave Point. They did a good job of getting us all outfitted with our life jackets, paddles, and kayaks. We had a brief instruction on how to kayak for those who had never been kayaking before. Our tour guide Kyle was awesome. He chatted with the group as well as each individual pair of people. He had the group together, but let each pair paddle at the speed they were comfortable with. Once we got to the point he helped those who wanted to go into a cave for a picture and then took their picture when they got out too. The only thing I was a little disappointed with was that my daughter wanted to cliff jump, but we didn't feel that we were able to. When we got back Kyle text us the pictures he had taken and had said we could reach out with any other questions during our stay. It was a fun experience that was worth the money!
We experienced the Cave Point kayak tour with our guide Dee and it was absolutely wonderful! A perfect blend of kayaking and taking healthy breaks to learn about the history of Door County's ecosystem as you move along the tour. Dee is a very well versed guide and made it so interesting and fun! Let alone she even gave us a tour on her own birthday (:
Dude! This tour is so worth it. Such a great time out on the Kayak, and learning about the history of cave point and door county was super interesting. Our guide, Dee, was a kayaking PRO and rattled off all the history in an awesome, fun, engaging way. Don't miss this tour!
Most of our vacations have to have an active component, so I booked a kayak tour and hoped for good weather. We meet at the shop for our tour. There's a place to leave your car keys and was easy parking in back and on the street. If you forget water, sunscreen, etc, there's plenty there to pick up. What's nice is if you book in advance, they can add any additional purchases to your card if you like. Nice if you want to lock your wallet in the car; you definitely don't want to take it on the water. Miles, our guide, have us a brief instruction before we put in (most of us had kayaked at least once). We grouped up, talked about the plan and headed out. We stopped every once in a while to regroup, learn about the area and get any instruction for the next leg of our tour. We skipped the cliff jumping; there were only a few interested and a sizeable line of people waiting to jump. We learned about Door County and cliffs and on our way back got to explore a cave. The water was fairly choppy on the way back, but we powered through and no one strayed from the pack. It was a fun way to spend our first full afternoon in Door County. I highly recommend it.
The Kayak tour was great! It was awesome to see the caves and then go cliff diving. Accomplished a lot of the things I wanted to do in Door County at once, and the tour guide Jacqui was great as well (make sure to ask her about Texas), the trip went super smoothly :)
We were originally scheduled for the half day tour. They were watching the wind and changed to a 2 hour kayak tour. Our guides, Axel and Tomas, were engaging and fun. Unfortunately, we didn't get to paddle in to the caves nor do any of the activities besides paddling. We also didn't get all the way to cave point because of the wind and waves. Overall, we had a good time. My significant disappointment was related to the photos (or lack thereof). I paid $20/person for the photo package and they took NO PHOTOS like those on the website. No group photos at the launch, close up. Just pictures from the shore of the entire group paddling. Of course i didn't know that the photos would be non-existent until I had paid and left the area. So I don't have any photos of this event, which is a complete shame.
The weather was not good so we changed our tour to the e bikes.I would highly recommend doing this with the tour guide Delia. She knew a lot of information and facts. We had an amazing time. She showed us scenery in cave point and white fish dunes that we would have never knew about. This was absolute a must do activity if you visit door county. Overall rating would be 5 stars. It was the highlight of our trip!
